JEWELRY SALES ASSOCIATE

The ideal candidate provides exemplary customer service and is driven to sell merchandise on hand. Displaying a high degree of professionalism, both visually and verbally, at all times on the sales floor and when speaking on the phone is expected.

As a jewelry sales associate, you’re the heart of the store, beyond just handling sales. Your day will be filled with greeting customers, understanding their unique tastes and budget, and showcasing jewelry and watch options. You’re also there to recommend perfect pieces, answer queries, and smoothly wrap up sales, including payment processing. 

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Promote sales through add-ons with repair customers.
  2. Ability to communicate professionally in person and by phone and electronically.
  3. Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers.
  4. Enter sales transactions accurately into the Point of Sale system.
  5. Responsible for ensuring store appearance is clean and presentable at all times.
  6. Creates and maintains a wish list for customers.
  7. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities that are reasonable as the Manager may assign.

EDUCATION: Some college preferred. Industry specific experience considered in lieu of education. Jewelers of America, GIA, and other industry related certifications given preference.

EXPERIENCE: Five, or more years’ experience in a related sales associate position.

SKILLS: Knows how to listen and guide customers with their purchases to reduce returns. Has a comfort level with technology, including computers, cash registers and client-tracking software.

(Microsoft Office experience preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to occasionally stand for long periods. Must have ability to lift

packages and boxes without assistance up to 25 lbs. and carry up/ down at least one flight of stairs.

JOB HOURS: Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (except during high season)
